What is the time commitment of Cub Scouts?
The time commitment for pack and den meetings is about 2 hours per month. In addition to this, there are activities that each scout can participate in. Activities range from short hikes, to rocket launchs, to camping overnights at the Nobscot reservation in Sudbury, MA
When does the Pack meet?
We try our best to minimize conflicts with school schedules, religious holidays, vacation weeks, etc. Our Pack meets monthly, typically on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:45pm at Wellesley Hills Congregational Church. Each pack meeting consists of the Pledge of Allegiance, recognizing scouts for their accomplishments including belt loop awards, and a fun activity (bridge building, martial arts, etc.)
I am new to cub scouts. What do I need to do?
All scouts need a level appropriate uniform and handbook. The uniforms can be purchased from the Scout Shop in Southborough (https://www.facebook.com/newenglandscoutshop) located on route 9 at 23 Turnpike Rd, Southborough, MA 01772. The staff at the Scout Shop are very helpful and can set you up with everything your scout will need for Cub Scouts. You can expect cost for new scouts to total less than $100 (approximately $70 for the uniform and $20 for the handbook.
Pack 140 meets once per month. Our next pack meeting can be found here . In addition, Dens meet approximately once per month as well. Reach out to us at info@pack140wellesley.org for more information.
How much does it cost (dues)?
Pack dues are approximately $175. $150 is paid to the National and State level scouting organizations through the my.scouting registration link. The remaining $25 is paid directly to Pack 140. This $25 helps fund various Pack activities throughout the year in addition to normal fundraising efforts.
